I don't know why, but on this Board I do not hide my status when I am on-line.

I always hide my status when I am on line at 'other' places. That is a throw-back to when Gob and I were still courting. It used to upset me if I was going to bed to view the Boards and see him on-line.

As a result, for all those years we have always hidden our status, even though we lived with one another and there was no reason any longer for me to get the shits with Gob being in the Northern hemisphere.

Do other 'hiders' have reason for being hidden or is it just an anonyminity issue?

I hide cause I don't ever want anyone to know how much time I actually waste on here.

I have never understood the concept of hidding ones status. It never occured to me to do that.

as I explained above, it started out just so I could keep my sanity over the 2 years it took for Gob and me to get together.

You need many coping mechanisms.

Oddly I just switched my status over there. Not going to do much posting over there anymore so I feel like it's false advertising.

I also changed from visible to hidden over there. I believe I visible here and see no reason to change that.

I was always "hidden" over there.

As I have explained to JG (several times) and anyone that cared to ask; the Main reason was that it used to be my Home Page. So when ever I was on line it would have shown me as on the CSB.

That was so Not the case that it seemed ludicrous for me to lead some gullible soul to believe that I was on there 24 - 7. And besides, I HATED having to login and logout all the fucking time>

On the other claw; when you are visible people could look and see what thread you were reading.

And when there was a big shitfest going on that I wanted no active part of. It was a small comfort to know that I could follow along without certain parties knowing that I was following along and speculating what my interest was and perhaps even whose side I was on.

Now then. With that said. Anyone that notices these things will note that I do Not hide my status Here.

I just don't feel it neccessary.

At the same time, this fucking board logs me out so fast that I sometimes have to login several times a sitting. Get a sandwhich -login. Read some news -login. Play some Poker -login. Surf some porn -login! Geezus!

So not much chance of anyone thinking I am here 24 - 7.
