A student has pleaded for the return of her prosthetic hand after losing it on a night out.
Amelia Welch, 20, from Axminster in Devon, was partying with friends in Plymouth on Friday when she lost her hand, which cost about £3,000.
The Plymouth University marine biology student said she only realised the cosmetic prosthetic was missing the following morning.
She thinks she could have left it in a nightclub and forgot to pick it up.
The hand is designed to fit her "like a glove" said Amelia
Amelia, who was born with a congenital malformation in her right hand, said she had gone to Oceana nightclub after a university ball.
Her hand is "more functionable" without the prosthetic which has very little movement, she said.

A "cosmetic prosthetic" hand? And the user admits that her actual hand, even with whatever condition that warrants the use of a prosthetic, is "more functionable" without the prosthetic than with it? Sounds like she may have the same condition — a congenital birth defect that affected the length of the fingers — that Gary Burghoff ('Radar', from the TV show M*A*S*H) has endured throughout his life. See the picture below and notice the left hand.
However, there does appear to be more to this than is explained in this little teaser, Gob; please keep us informed.
And BTW — just what does "functionable" mean that the already common word "functional" doesn't convey? -"BB"-
Article above has photos of what her real hand (what there is of it) looks like.

Man, this story almost grabbed the headlines. If someone were to find this prosthetic device would they return it? You never know, it could come in handy at a later date. Not to mention the nearby village idiot being able to count to fifteen.

cognoscente → Obsolete Italian → from Latin cognōscēns, cognōscent-, present participle of cognōscere, to know → literal translation is "one who has the knowledge"
However, it does not specifically express just *WHAT* it is of which one has the knowledge ... or how accurate that knowledge might be. -"BB"-

Yes, but we don't deal in literal translations all that often.
Definition of cognoscente
: a person who has expert knowledge in a subject : connoisseur
The subject in question was Howard Wolowitz. Ray demonstrated excellent understanding of an otherwise obscure and off-hand comment.

It's been handed in.
A student has been reunited with her £3,000 prosthetic hand after losing it in a Plymouth nightclub.
Amelia Welch, 20, from Axminster in Devon, was partying in the city on Friday when she left it in the toilet.
The Plymouth University marine biology student said when she lost it the hand was "worth everything to me but nothing to anyone else".
A spokesperson from the Oceana nightclub club confirmed someone had returned it to her.
