Dumb Thief Crushed To Death By The SUV He Was Stealing Wheels From

Justin T. Westbrook
Today 9:30pm
· Filed to: Car Crime

An Ohio dealership discovered the dead body of a man underneath a GMC Yukon, who evidently didn’t take the necessary safety precautions while he attempted to steal the wheels off of the SUV.

According to a report by the Canton Repository, via The Truth About Cars, 43-year-old Richard E. Ritch was killed in the middle of the night trying to remove a wheel from a GMC Yukon sitting on a dealership lot after the jack he used to lift the vehicle collapsed.

The worst part is that nobody noticed until long after he was dead, as mentioned in the Canton Rep’s report:

Dealership employees initially did not see his body before they opened the dealership at 9 a.m. He was behind a row of vehicles.

After a vehicle that was blocking the view of the man’s body was moved, a sales associate looking out the window spotted the man’s body, sales manager Kyle Green said.

The vehicle had fallen on Ritch, pinning him, and one wheel had been removed from the vehicle, said Walters.

The dealership remained open during the police investigation, and the car was sent through the service department to check for damages. gotta make a dollar, right?

Thief or not, it should be a crime to not use the proper jacking technique, ensuring that the vehicle is supported with jack stands before sticking your head in the melon-crusher zone.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

Oh, no, not Richie Ritch. I knew he fell on hard times, but this? Very sad.

I think congress needs to act on this. There should be a law. Maybe an executive order. :nana

That's for the workplace. It's the shade tree mechanic (or parking lot thief) who needs more oversight.

What a stupid amateur.

Everyone knows the way to steal tires and wheels is to wedge blocks under the body as tightly as possible, and then let the air out of the tires. Two on one side, and a third at the center of the other.

At least that's how they got four of mine.

BTW, my older son's ex-wife was named Karma. I think he'd agree.

My brother had all four wheels stolen off of his car in front of his apartment in Baltimore ('70s). The next night they came back and stole the transmission.

That is when he realized this was no place for a California boy and left.

Perhaps it's my mood but this story is just sad.

Cops: bicyclist reached into moving car to swipe cell phone

By Bill Hutchinson

Updated 3:21 pm, Friday, August 19, 2016

A thief on a bicycle was injured and arrested after he rode alongside a car on a San Francisco street, reached through an open window and snatched a passenger’s cell phone before crashing, police said.

The brazen theft occurred just after 11 p.m. on Tuesday in the 1400 block of Valencia Street in the Mission District, police said.

The 30-year-old victim was sitting in the front passenger seat of the moving vehicle talking on his cell phone when the bicyclist’s reached in and grabbed the device, said Officer Carlos Manfredi, a spokesman for the San Francisco Police Department. A brief struggle ensued over the phone and the bicyclist, whose name was not released, lost his balance, crashed into the side of the car and fell to the pavement, he said.

The bike got caught under the tire of the vehicle,” Manfredi said.

When police officers arrived, they initially thought they were responding to a collision between a bicyclist and a vehicle. Then the victim, whose name was also not released, pointed out that the injured bicyclist was still in possession of his stolen cell phone, Manfredi said.

After being treated by paramedics for minor injuries, the suspect was arrested on suspicion of robbery.

Man Claims Natural Disasters are "God's Way of Punishing Gays"

Loses His Own Home in Louisiana Flooding

http://www.esquire.com/news-politics/ne ... gay-flood/

Tony Perkins is the president of the Family Research Center — which the Southern Poverty Law Center classifies as an anti-gay extremist hate group — and has on numerous occasions stated that extreme weather conditions and other natural disasters, such as 2015's Hurricane Joaquin, was a "sign of God's wrath" over the legalization of gay marriage and abortion and claims that "God is trying to send us a message."

However, Perkins' home in Louisiana, along with thousands of others, was destroyed this past week by rampaging flood waters.  I wonder just what sort of message God was trying to send to him?
