Prisoner sends thank you note after 'pleasant stay' in custody
Normally prisoners can't wait to get out the cells, but one inmate was so impressed with how police officers treated her she wrote them a letter to thank them. The female inmate, who spent two nights Cheadle Heath Custody Suite in Stockport , said she had been shown "respect and dignity" by staff.
She added despite "many weekend bang ups", "it's the first time I ever had respect for the police".

I get the feeling this letter was self serving and gratuitous with hope that it might schmooze those who were going to sit in judgement at her trial.
"The woman was later charged with theft and breaching bail."
Alas, no good deed goes unpunished.

We expect criminals to demonstrate responsibility, and when they do, we question their motives.
Does that say more about them or us?
