Must Have Been An Arguement Over An Expired Diners Club Card

LOS ANGELES (AP) —
An early morning argument at a Los Angeles restaurant apparently triggered gunfire that left 3 people dead and 12 wounded, authorities said Saturday.
Police who arrived at the scene in a working class neighborhood dotted by tall palm trees found shell casings and blood throughout the restaurant, located west of downtown Los Angeles.
Two possible suspects were being questioned.
Los Angeles Police Department Officer Mike Lopez said a preliminary investigation found a party was underway at 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the restaurant,
operating out of a converted home, when an argument started.
A man and woman left, then returned, and the restaurant erupted in gunfire.
Mayor Eric Garcetti said he was confident police would unravel questions surrounding the shooting, and expressed sympathy for victims' families.
He called it "the latest example of a senseless gun violence epidemic that causes so much pain and sorrow in our city and across the nation.
"We cannot tolerate these tragedies multiplying in communities across America," Garcetti said in a statement.
The shooting occurred in a residential area of modest homes. Investigators were snapping photographs and scouring the ground in an area that extended over two blocks.
Three people died at the scene, and 12 others were transported to local hospitals. Their conditions ranged from critical to stable but serious.
Police did not disclose the names or ages of the fatalities or the wounded.
"There was some type of party there," Lopez said. After the couple left the restaurant and returned "that's when the shooting occurred."
Neighbor Sheryl Cobb said she was awakened by screaming and gunfire, but never left her home for fear of getting caught in a crossfire.
"Bullets don't have names on them," she said.
LAPD Sgt. Frank Preciado told The Los Angeles Times (
http://lat.ms/2diVuqZ ) that the restaurant was "a bloody scene with shell casings everywhere."
One firearm was recovered.
Interesting that CA has some of the most punitive Firearms Laws in the nation.
Yet this crap keeps hitting the fan.
Not working out too well, I see.
We need more restrictive firearms laws her in CA, yeah..........that's the ticket!

These kinds of things are only happening because the firearms laws in Nevada are much looser Dale...
Just like homicide rates are high in DC because of looser gun restriction laws in Virginia, and homicide rates in Chicago are the fault of looser gun restrictions in southern Illinois...
Of course homicide rates in Nevada, Virginia, and southern Illinois are all lower than they are in LA, DC, and Chicago respectively, but never let discrediting facts get in the way of a good narrative...

There are enough guns in private hands to keep this kind of thing going for at least a hundred years regardless of any gun control laws. What is needed is not gun control as much as but people control. Some people should not have guns and there should be some way to ensure that they don’t have guns.
I would suggest one thing here: Shield gun dealers from any legal action for refusing to sell guns to anyone, regardless of the reason.

That just might work. If we start getting gun dealers to refuse to sell guns to anyone, eventually dealers all over the country will quit selling them to people.

Do we know where the gun came from?
Do we know if the shooter was legally allowed to own a gun?

I like to think that most people are good and will do the right thing and that includes gun dealers. That they would prefer to lose a sell than have one of their guns be used to kill a bunch of kids or harm an innocent person. But if a gun dealer refused to sell a gun without the support of the law he could be sued for discriminatory sale practices.
For the few that only care about money a type shaming law could be set up where the gunship owner would have to post outside his shop large photographs of people killed with guns, traced directly back to his shop, along with a statement acknowledging moral responsibility for that person's death. I think that would hurt his business more. Like I said most people want to do the right thing and that includes gun buyers.
