Now I agree with the Donald. The NY Times is FAILING ! The paper that claims to be the newspaper of record gave this event, in their own backyard, hardly any overage. The 'we try harder' Washington Post of Jeff Bezos did not much better. I guess they have given up and expect those with any interest will go to the online chess sites. Yes I too was looking for it in the NYT (it happened in Manhattan after all) but I followed it on the Guardian site. That last move by Carlsen Qh6 was a thing of beauty. Queen sacrifice with mate next move to finish a world championship! If Hollywood did that we would pass it off as typical exaggeration. Karjakin did not see it coming and it must have felt like a dagger to the heart. I replayed the game on chess.com and even though I knew how it ended I still did not see it coming.
