A murderer who beat his wife to death during a row over tickets to an Elvis tribute act has been found dead in prison.
Paul Abbott, 57, battered wife Jacqueline with a hammer and was given a life sentence earlier this year.
He was found dead at HMP Long Lartin, Worcestershire, on Sunday - exactly a year after killing his wife, according to the Express and Star newspaper.
The Prison Service said the death would be investigated.
A Prison Service Spokesperson said: "As with all deaths in custody there will be an independent investigation by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman".
Ms Abbott, aged 54, was found injured at the family home in Lodge Crescent, Netherton, Dudley, but died a short time later.
Paul Abbott became angry when found out his estranged wife had sold his ticket to the concert, police said.
Reason enough to murder.
Reason enough to murder.

I'll be more inclined toward murder if my wife purchased a ticket for me.

I'll save the people in charge of HMP Long Lartin, Worcestershire and the Prison Service ombudsman a great deal of time and money.Gob wrote:A Prison Service Spokesperson said: "As with all deaths in custody there will be an independent investigation by the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman".
I find that Mr. Abbott's death was due to natural causes.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?
Reason enough to murder.
Oh, poor Mr. Abbott, they found him beaten to death with a Jailhouse Rock.

Sounds like suicide...exactly a year after killing his wife
He was probably depressed over facing a blue Christmas in prison, and decided it's now or never...
