I'm Sick & Tired of Hypersensitive Self-Declared 'Victims'

I don't even want to cut & paste this article.

When a celebrity says anything publicly, most people nowadays are intent on finding a way to be offended by it. I have no sympathy for them. In fact I have contempt for them and want to smash some of these people squarely on the head with a lead pipe. God help them if they should be called a bad name, like "Dodo Bird" or "Gunky". It might give them Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and not able to function normally in society ever again.

Watch the video below to see how disgusting Cam Newton is. He surely needs to be called out with scolding tweets for belittling every woman on earth when he spoke that brutally offensive anti-female language....

Once again I am revealed as an out-of touch-with-the-real-world ignorant old white man.

What is funny about a female sports writer using the word 'routes' when asking about the connection between a guy thowing a football and an other guy running around to catch the football? It is clear from the context, that the word 'routes' is some kind of dog-whistle or euphemism about sex but I just don't get it. I guess I should hang out more in locker-rooms so I would be familiar with the locker-room talk of modern 'men'.

Brutally offensive anti-female language? No, he does come across as a jerk--but then we already knew that. How long has this guy played--is she really the first woman sports reporter he every interacted with? Answer the damn question and keep you comments to yourself.

I don't believe she declared herself a victim; he said what he said on camera and his sponsors weren't pleased so some are dropping him. It was a stupid, sexist thing to say - there have been female sportscasters for most of my life and I'm almost 50 years old. More than half of the consumers of sports equipment, sportswear, shoes, and game labeled stuff are women - who buy for their husbands/lovers, kids, and THEMSELVES. He acted like a jerk - maybe he'll learn to be less of a jerk (at least in public) now.

Jourdan Rodrigue had to let everyone know that she and all women in the world were offended by a stupid off the cuff remark at a press conference before she received a complete answer to her question. She's a victim. And everyone needs to be aware that they too might be victims and not even know it. People need to keep their victim antennas up at all times.

Oh.... btw..... from a couple years ago....

Yes, I read that she’s a closet racist, like millions of Americans.

Would you please post the source for your assertion that she proclaimed herself a victim?

She didn't have to use the word victim in order to portray herself as one. If she didn't see herself as a victim of the remarks of Cam Newton, what was her point in commenting on his response to her question?

Victim: One that is subjected to oppression, hardship, or mistreatment

Joe--it's wrong to point out someone acted like a jerk? And doing so means you consider yourself a victim? I don't see it.

Big RR, here's how I see it and how BSG can't see because she is too busy rolling her eyes: A reporter asked a question to Cam Newton at a press conference. He made a silly comment before answering her question. The reporter's feelings were hurt and she decided that everyone on the internet needed to know about it. After reading her butt hurt Tweet, others ran with the story and said that Newton "belittled all women" and other similar comments, causing him to lose sponsors and be forced to apologize publicly to every woman that ever existed and those who have not yet been born.

The sports reporter, whose job it is to report sports, decided that it was more important for people to know that she was offended by a senseless silly statement than to report the answer to her question.

She is a victim in waiting and seems to be part of a growing movement of people who can't let any statement go unchallenged and needs to take everything personally and tell everyone on the internet and the world about it.

That's how I see it.... 8-)

Newton's comment was off but not so far off that he should be slapped for it. A little mild public shaming would be about right.

And did the reporter actually write that "bitch nigga" tweet? A reporter is presumed to have a greater understanding of the use of language than the average person. I would fire her for that. And WTH is "triller"?

From the WaPo:
>>> Cam Newton made himself look foolish Wednesday afternoon. In a news conference, Charlotte Observer reported Jourdan Rodrigue asked him a question about the routes wide receiver Devin Funchess runs. Newton started his response thusly: “It’s funny to hear a female talk about routes like — it’s funny.”
The comments were not only retrograde and offensive. They were flat wrong. Women in sportswriting, in my experience, usually know more about the sports they cover than male counterparts. They have to take time to learn because they must unfairly be on guard for the nonsense Newton spewed Wednesday — from the men they cover, the men who read them and even the men who might hire them for their next jobs.
Newton doesn’t need to be vilified. He does need to realize what he said was stuck-in-the-1950s stupid, patently incorrect and wildly unfair, and he needs to apologize.
Sounds about right. And it's definitely not wrong to call out stupid, sexist comments. Nor does it make one a "victim" to do so.

It was funny to him. Obviously something new to him. Why the outrage? Because Rodrigue felt the need to point out that somebody said something that not only made her a victim of misogynistic language, but is also terribly offensive to every woman in the world who ever asked a question.

Not yet. You didn't say that I insulted all of womankind and then publicize it on Twitter and cause me to lose income (or did you?)
