Do not understand your post, Dales.

I clicked on the link and it looks to me like a typical on-line newspaper. If you simply mean they are a mess, I can't argue, but This one does not seem to me to be particularly a mess, anymore than the Independence Missouri Examiner, my hometown rag that check occasionally.

You didn't say what error message you're getting. Works fine for me. It does redirect to httpS://www.mercurynews.com/ (capital S is my emphasis). If you have some sort of issue with SSL or blocking redirects that might be the issue.

Tried your embedded LINK and came up with this:

HTTP 400 error
It’s not you, it’s this link (it appears to be broken)

And here's where I'm directed to when I click on your link. I have Mozilla Firefox... NOT Firefox Chrome.

:shrug Not sure what's going on with you, Dale...but all the links posted in this thread (except for Andy's link to the Independence Missouri Examiner) lead me to a very normal-looking San Jose Mercury News website.

Download "CCleaner" -- free version (https://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download) and run the registry and cleaner a few times before using your browser.

Browser issue.

Had trouble with IE 10 (although no issues with any other sites) and now open the the "Murky Snooze" using Chrome.

Happy New Year!
