I don't want to complain about the heat...
I don't want to complain about the heat...
...but when I went outside I saw two hobbits run by with a gold ring.

Sounds like you may have some bad hobbits. But in any event,

GAH!
Re: I don't want to complain about the heat...
scooter and I agree. effing hot.....
I was out side most of the day, alternating between my shade trees umbrella and fan, and the odd chore,
but between 2 and 4 it was just unbearable. the fan was blowing waves of super heated misery across my sorry old ass.
I had to go into the AC for a while....
just came in actually.
played a little guitar, lit the lantern and got the yard ready for a modest holiday.
happy independence day.
Live free or die.
crabbing Thursday!!!!

Ahhhhh - beach weather. We wait all winter and spring for this - I’m thrilled!! Hate to leave my town - it’s always 5-10 degrees cooler here than almost every where else. My Swede is headed down later today for a beach day with friends tomorrow and a really fun party tomorrow night in the hills overlooking the city where we can see fireworks all along the coast - before he heads to Europe with his daughter on Thursday. I’m just happy to have a respite from the brutal pace of work lately.
Sunday night (hottest night of the year so far) I was in Boston with friends for a concert in the Seaport and man were the sea breezes delightful. It was much cooler there than the rest of the city. We saw Barenaked Ladies to celebrate Canada day, eh!
Maybe it would be different if I lived in the baking interior, but I’ll take this weather and light and sun any day over January and February and the dark cold snowy storms.

This is not a parody BTWA Government health alert across southern England was this morning ramped up to one stage below ‘national emergency’.
The level-3 heat watch advisory, issued by the Met Office with Public Health England (PHE), will remain in place until tomorrow night.
Charities and ambulance staff reiterated warnings to take extra care with extreme heat bringing a risk of serious illness or even death.
Blazing sunshine could trigger a new UK record with the mercury expected to push past 38C (100F) by mid-month.
UK weather models show thermometers widely touching 30C (86F) next week with some spots nudging 37C (98.6F).
With no sign of a cool-down for at least the next four weeks forecasters expect this to be one of, if not the, hottest summers on record.
High pressure wedged over the UK refuses to budge as Britain bakes in one of the longest heatwaves for more than 40 years.

I prefer the cold and snow--a snow blanketed landscape is one of my favorite things, but I enjoy the changes the seasons bring and can enjoy the summer heat as well.Maybe it would be different if I lived in the baking interior, but I’ll take this weather and light and sun any day over January and February and the dark cold snowy storms.
