72,000+ drug overdose deaths in 2017

https://www.drugabuse.gov/related-topic ... eath-rates

In 2016 the deaths by overdose were 63,000+; will Trump even mention this abysmal failure?

Waiting to see the suicide rate for his first year in office; I predict a similar Trump bump.

Our new neanderthal provincial government just paused the opening of new supervised consumption sites while they "review evidence of their effectiveness" aka pander to the reactionary asshats who elected them. The existing sites prevented hundreds of ODs since they first popped up without approval last summer and were eventually given official sanction. Activists are keeping a running tally of how many people OD while the gov't does its "review".

I’m waiting for his defense of Trump’s zero investment in addressing the opioid epidemic - beyond funding Chris Christie’s panel to declare it a national emergency.

Once again we see how good a job Chris Christie does on addressing a crisis. As if there were any doubt where this would lead; these men are cut from the same cloth.

That is close to the total of breast cancer and prostate cancer deaths. Truly shocking. The contemporary GOP/Libertarian party thinks we should do nothing for any problem which can be called a product of choice. Pitiless. And ruthless treatment of all of the children in these families. Even worse than separating children from immigrants.
