In terms of the OP, I was in agreement right up to the last paragraph. Maybe there are some people who are "proud to be white", although that seems to me like being proud to have red hair or an outie - mere accidents of nature. But I disbelieve that any of them are celebrating oppression, violence and torture.

Mr Michael, methinks, has a problem of self-abnegation and a love of grandstanding.

I'm relieved to be white. Not proud.

Not to mention that black slavery was not exclusively an American thing.  The epithet/slur 'coon', when used to refer to blacks, was quite likely a shortening of the word 'barracoon' (from the Spanish barracón), a type of barracks used historically for the temporary confinement of slaves or criminals.

How about an impossible chicken salad pita? It will taste just like a chicken pita - or bunny pita, if you choose - but it will be made with all kinds of other stuff. I read, somewhere where you know it has to be true because it says so, that those impossible burgers are loaded with man-boob producing estrogen. Of course man boobs and men who are boobs have been around longer than the impossible burger.

Yeah, it's another evil plot by the government and fast food restaurants to turn men more feminine. It's working. All men under 30 sound like girls when they talk nowadays. Then there are older people like Bruce Jenner who probably ate so many soy burgers that he turned into a Caitlyn. It's epidemic. I've been petitioning my city to put anabolic steroids into city water because the male gender is doomed to extinction. So far, I haven't been too successful. I'm pretty sure all the city leaders are happy, if you know what I mean...
