WASHINGTON (AP) — Chelsea Manning's legal team said Wednesday that the former intelligence analyst tried to take her own life Wednesday, but was transported to a hospital where she is recovering.

Manning has been in jail since May 2019 for refusing to testify before a grand jury investigating WikiLeaks. She was scheduled to appear in federal court in Alexandria, Virginia, on Friday for a hearing on a motion to terminate the civil contempt sanctions stemming from that refusal

I guess I'd have waited until the result of Friday's hearing before trying to end it all. Maybe it's time to just open the door and let this person go.

The Traitor Manning would still be serving a much deserved sentence in Leavenworth, were it not for the completely wrong-headed sentence commutation issued by Barack Obama. Manning's reckless and traitorous actions endangered the lives of thousands of American service personnel, as well as foreign nationals assisting our efforts.

Moreover, Manning must remain completely unrepentant, evidenced by the refusal to cooperate with the Grand Jury investigation into their co-conspirator, Wikileaks. Behind bars is precisely where The Traitor Manning belongs.
