Day 3 in the countdown to an end to the COVID-19 panic.

More good news.

Yale Medical School now includes hydroxychlorquine in their decision tree in diagnosing and treating the virus. The link goes to a pdf.

You know obsessively latching on to any “good news” regardless of its veracity is another form of panic.
Okay... There's all kinds of things wrong with what you just said.

Don't try this at home kiddies but one woman self treated at home and it worked.

It's most likely an undiagnosed form of mental illness called assholeaphrenia. Symptoms are laughing your ass off at the world in general and other subjects in particular.

I originally self diagnosed when my two kids asked to do something and I said no. When they asked why daddy? I responded, "Because I'm an asshole."

They never argued I wasn't. End of conversation.

Reckless and dangerous.

That sheet is a week old (dated 4/3/20). In corona-world that’s decades. It also notes they are participating in a clinical trial, which means highly regulated and monitored by one of the leading hospitals in the nation. Not prescribed by someone playing doctor on the internet.

Finally, I know many of the cardiologists at Yale New Haven Hospital (which is what YNHHS means, not the med school), and know that given the data from Nice and other studies, its probably off the list by now.

Well there you have it folks..

If any more evidence was needed to prove my contention that all that's involved here is just pure troll chain yanking, there it is...

Darren doesn't really buy the crap he's posting; he's just looking to get an angry indignant rise out of the reader, for his own assholic pleasure...

Don't give him the satisfaction... :ok

More good news about a 96 year old woman that recovered.

"FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Tucker County resident Rosalie Snyder was discharged from United Hospital Center on Wednesday after recovering from the coronavirus.

Synder, who is 96 years old, encountered the virus while she was staying with one of her daughters. Another one of Snyder’s daughters, Joyce Donofrio, received a phone call from one of her nephews on Sunday asking her to come pick up Snyder due to her sister encountering the virus."

Hydroxychoroquine to the rescue. Hydroxychoroquine to the rescue. Go Hydroxychoroquine! Go Hydroxychoroquine!

"UPMC announced Thursday that they are launching a new fast-track clinical trial for COVID-19 drugs.

The clinical trial developed by researchers at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine launched officials say addresses one of the most important debates during the COVID-19 pandemic: How should doctors decide between quickly adopting new therapies, such as the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine, and waiting until they are tested in longer clinical trials?

“The solution is to find an optimal tradeoff between doing something now, such as prescribing a drug off-label, or waiting until traditional clinical trials are complete,” said Derek Angus, M.D., M.P.H., professor and chair of Pitt’s Department of Critical Care Medicine. “We’ve developed a way to do that with an adaptive clinical trial model that relies on a type of artificial intelligence known as reinforcement learning to identify the best, evidence-backed therapy for COVID-19 much faster than using the traditional scientific approach.”"

Before COVID-19 emerged, Angus and a wide range of international collaborators had developed a platform, called REMAP-Community Acquired Pneumonia (REMAP-CAP), designed to find optimal treatments for severe pneumonia both in non-pandemic and pandemic settings. When COVID-19 began circulating, REMAP-CAP was rapidly adapted, as per its intent, to incorporate additional treatment regimens specifically targeting the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The international team describes the REMAP-CAP platform in a manuscript published today in the Annals of the American Thoracic Society (AnnalsATS)."

Are you aware RBG was spotted at the crowded opera recently with a small entourage? You better hope hydroxychloroquine works otherwise she may be put on a ventilator with the risk of damaging her lungs.

Sparse shelves are out as an indicator of panic. This is great news. As the panic declines do you think people will start to get pissed at the lock downs?

"While panic buying hasn’t stopped, it is rapidly declining, according to market research firm IRI, falling by half from mid-to-late March."

From March 18, 2020.

"I went to the Washington National Opera last night to see Samson and Delilah by French composer Camille Saint-Saens. It was a last minute purchase made possible by a change in travel plans. And, as is usual for me, I did that thing where I was looking forward to it, but then on the day of the performance I start wishing I could just stay home. But happily I fought inertia and got my butt out of the house.

Pathogens Flying Everywhere

Maybe because I have been reading and talking a lot about Covid-19 over the past two weeks I was hyper aware last night of other people’s behavior. (I had been in Italy, quite near the origin of the outbreak, right as it was starting to get a foothold, so for the past two weeks I have worried about becoming DC’s patient zero. At day 15, it looks like I might be in the clear.) Anyway, to wit:"

Still doesn't explain why you needed to lie in that post.
