Man, that's harsh.

I would have thought a Buddhist monk would have been able to handle isolation and boredom without going totally crackers.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

I appreciated the comments for the insight, The video on some level was profound.

I've been considering the Borg as a concept, Doc and I count the people standing at bus stops on our trips to the VA hospital. The percentage of people face planted into a phone varies from 100% down.

It's very rare someone is not Borging.

It occurred to me that Borging started a long time ago with the boob tube and has progressed to our individual almost steady state attachment.

In a restaurant a father and two teen aged kids were shown to a table. The kids immediately pulled out smart phones. The waiter eventually took their orders and then the father pulled out his phone. All three were Borging.

Where does that lead?

I suspect with the failure of the educational system it limits people's awareness. At a recent book sale where books were priced at eight books for $10, two teenagers could not figure out what I owed when I bought nine books. They had a calculator.

Sometimes I get insight by talking things out or in this case, writing. I had no idea who John Hung was before this thread. Nor do I recognize most of the people when I look at a copy of People magazine in a waiting room.

It occurs to me many of us have joined a matrix unknowingly. Like a Venn diagram it's the commonality between our individual matrix associations that links us. When there is little to no true commonality but only the superficial there is no meeting of the minds.
Thank you RBG wherever you are!

Yo Darren, what is this "borging" that you talk about?

Yes, I know the Borg is a Star Trek reference, "resistance is futile... you will be assimilated," but how does widespread smartphone usage relate to borging?

Explain please.
