Covidiots
Yesterday I drove out to get some food for us at a local who is doing takeout. While out I noted that it looked like a normal Saturday afternoon traffic wise. The Meijer I went by was absolutely packed. People were absolutely everywhere.
So when it makes the news that cases have spiked I shall not express surprise.

Re: Corvidiots
The main beach in my town is crawling with people. They’ve even closed all the parking, but cars are flowing in and out and parking on the streets, walkers, runners, and cyclists everywhere. Most without masks - completely selfish and annoying. One runner went flying right past me while I was walking (much earlier, to avoid the crowds), unmasked, so spewing her effluent everywhere. So frustrating.

Re: Covidiots
Today, I'm going to do my first proper supermarket shop since we've been in lock-down.
I'm very interested to see how it goes.

Well, approaching the end of my two week quarantine as well as my convolescence (5 days without a fever) I can attest that there is another side to this all, even for someone who otherwise faced some of the danger signs (age primarily).
another thing, three of us in the house contracted covid, but my wife did not (and still does not); prudent isolation techniques can help.
I should be having an antibody test soon when my docotor can arrange it.
Eventually we will relax the restrictions somewhat and progress.

Good news, Big RR. Keep on truckin'

But, yes, seeing an uptick in traffic (though still light) and people wandering around. Grocers trying to manage the situation are not assisted by those few who can't seem to follow the simplest instructions, or figure out how to shop alone. Most are within a reasonable range of safe behavior, but did see a nonsensical neighborhood parade and people gathered on street corners; must have been all the waivers.

I had no idea you were sick, but so very glad you have recovered. Stay safe and well!Big RR wrote: ↑Mon Apr 20, 2020 3:08 pmWell, approaching the end of my two week quarantine as well as my convolescence (5 days without a fever) I can attest that there is another side to this all, even for someone who otherwise faced some of the danger signs (age primarily).

Thanks all; now that I am recovered, hopefully I will be able to post more. I was able to keep up with my work while I was ill, but it was an effort. One of the things I think helped was running through my vocal breathing exercises daily (my singing may have also contributed to pulmonary health.

Sort of a musical anti-Gob, eh?

Re: Covidiots
Glad you're on the mend, Big RR. Like others, I missed that you had been ill. Hopes and prayers for your and your family's continued recovery and safety.
Re: Covidiots
No one missed that I had it; I just posted less until I knew where I was headed, I geenrally tend to be pretty private, but the well wishes and prayers are appreciated.

BigRR, and may continued good health be with you.
Pulmonary health is a primary concern for optimum recovery. Since my surgery on February 26th my PT regimen, which involves extensive breathing exercises, has been key. I don't know about you but I'm still using an incentive spirometer and the acapella vibratory system on a daily basis.
To paraphrase the old Monsanto catchphrase, without breathing life itself is impossible. Ventilators and ECMO are not an option for anyone over fifty. Good luck.
Life is good.
