I saw that about Ken Osmond; Eddie Haskell was an iconic character, one who many, even young people today, recognize as the quintessential wise guy/schmoozer/disingenuous liar who still was somehow lovable. It's a credit to his acting that he created such a memorable character.

There's a lot of people like that (I even recall growing up with a few), but Eddie raised it to an art form; no one did it better.
