Darkness at the Break of Noon

Post by Joe Guy »

This photo makes it look lighter outside than it really is. I took it at about 2:30 PM but it has been like this all day. The air quality outside is "Moderate" right now. They're saying that the smoke is filtering the sun but it's way up high and not affecting the air quality down here on earth as much as it has in the past lighter days...

It is a depressing Russian novel up here too. I think we get relief before you all, though, with winds dying down and cooler, moist air coming in the next few days.

Rub it in. We had slight relief (down to low 200s) for about 12 hours before more smoke wafted back in and we are back at nearly 400 again. Maybe a break coming tomorrow.

We had some drizzle last night. The good air might not last. We'll see.

I'm sure Trump will take credit for showing up and clearing the "air" 8-) . More likely explanation is west to east wind, pushing the smoke inland; I know Tahoe and Sierras are choking right now.

I want to thank your west coast sacrifice that has provided cool temps here this weekend that apparently has to do with cloud cover due to your smoke. It is beautiful here.

Before our polluted air headed your way I went outside and farted.

Have a nice day.
