Booboohooo! The little princess flaunted the law and went to jail. The sentence has been cut in half now and it seems her family will be going to Trump to try and get her out of serving. She ought to serve the whole sentence because she ain’t special.

Why would the Cayman Islands bend to Trump on this or anything else? Particularly given that he will only be President for another five seconds.

This seems like one of those things where you think the more noise Mack's people make, the more the Caymans will stick to their guns. No-one wants to be seen as bowing to political pressure.

Why do we care about this? (I had no idea who "Skylar Mack" was until I saw this thread and then had to google her.)

They just knocked two months off; I think the selfish girl can handle 60 days. She might grow some character.

Yep, people have to learn; foreign countries, even small island ones, are not Disneyland, but countries with their own laws that visitors are subject to. Two months in jail is not exactly something that should warrant international attention; I've had friends who got many multiples of that for possession of a small amount of marijuana.

I don’t know Sue, I guess we shouldn’t care about this or countless other things we post about and we can just let the board dry up and blow away.

Because Ms Mack is indicative of the kind of society we live in. Taking personal responsibility used to be a (self-designated) hallmark of the more right wing among us and they blamed the leftier of us for what they perceived as moral and personal failings. I have no idea about Ms Mack's politics or those of her family but this notion of 'it's someone else's fault and not my problem' seems to me to be a symptom of the Trump-led mores of the day.
