Hey BSG you may get your wish!

I felt horrible at work, like weak as a kitten. I managed to walk over and request that I get the covid rapid test. I came up positive. Everything tastes awful. I have had chest congestion for a few days. No fever yet. Nausea and diarrhea. I have lost. The ability to make complete sentences.

Fuck I'm sorry, that's a bitch. Is the presumption going to be work-acquired, and if so will that help you with workers comp or whatever?
Hope you're feeling better soon.

That's really a kick in the ass and it pisses me off. Most people get something like a gold watch when they retire. Your employer should send you to Walter Reed hospital for the Trump treatment.
I hope you get through this quickly.

Oh shoot. It IS a bummer, but most folks get over it very easily. (Not me.) Hopefully you will have a very light case like Mrs. Mc. If they keep you at the hospital, be sure they pay you overtime. They did request that you stick around after all.

Please get well and be ok, don’t give up; I will be praying for you.

Joining with all others in wishing you a recovery, speedy if possible but more likely you're in for an unpleasant week or three. We survived it, despite age and co-morbids. Damn it, it WAS like a really bad 'flu but harder to shake off (I'm grateful for it being no worse). Never had fever - that doesn't seem to be a real symptom? (Don't know why all these temperature checks every time we enter a building - evidently we had the thing a while before getting tested but not once had elevated temps)
Obvs you'll use an oximeter every hour or so. Our thoughts are with you.

Get well @W; one thing I will suggest is Mucinex for the congestion and cough; it was the only thing that worked when I had it in March (and I got the idea from an internet posting) . Also (and as nurse I am sure you know this) keep hydrated; the diarrhea is the worst I ever had; and the taste being off doesn't make drinking even water very easy. I also used a pulse oximeter to monitor oxygen levels and did a lot of breathing exercises during the course of the disease. Take care.

Get better, @W. I know we've butted heads a few times but in the words of John Donne,
“No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as well as if a manor of thy friend's or of thine own were: any man's death diminishes me, because I am involved in mankind... "
Not to mention that I don't know if I could handle losing another acquaintance/argument partner so soon.
I also find it highly telling that BSG has not yet been able to climb down off her high horse long enough to eat her previous words — although I do see that she has at least deleted them from her sig line.

What everybody says, @W. At times like this I wish I did pray: at least I'd feel that I was doing something useful.

Oh that stinks. I hope you get well quickly, with minimal aches and pains. Do those breathing exercises and get outside in the sun!

I am very achy and a bit feverish and chilling today. I had flu once years ago, and double pneumonia ones. This is pretty much what I felt like those times. I was able to eat a bowl of cocoa pebbles last night. It's my favorite but I could not taste them. I stuffed them down though, you have to keep your strength up.
My poor husband is so sick. He is off getting a covid test and seeing our MD. He got a UTI with it, and just recovered from shingles. Poor guy, I brought him viral plague.

No wishes here for anyone to suffer with Covid19, not even John Mitchell.
The best revenge is a long life. @W, I request that you live to see it true.

I hope you recover quickly, with minimal or no long-term effects. My sister is a (now-retired) RN, so I know how much you guys need and deserve a happy and (relatively) stress-free retirement. Get well soon and get back to grandma-ing...and best wishes to the hubby too.
