Ditch the prima donna, and have the reception with your grandmother as the guest of honour to celebrate having dodged a bullet.

Wow. Just wow. Yes chickie, you are. The presumptive groom should run, screaming, in the other direction.
Thank god the reddit users get it.

Dear Bride,
Please do everyone in your fiance's family a favor and cancel the wedding and move to Afghanistan immediately.

They’ll probably end up as an episode of Dateline, 48 Hours or 20/20 if they go through with the wedding.

I think the second-to-last line sums it up best....
… it will inevitably lead to us dealing with her and taking care of her, and I just want to get drunk and let loose with my friends.
Sounds to me like this gal is looking to have a no-holds-barred, down-and-dirty party complete with enough booze to float a cruise liner, drugs, puking in the punch-bowl, and probably an "all-hands-on-deck" orgy on the buffet table in order to call it a "good time".
Is she the asshole? No, at this point she would have to strive to get back to being merely an asshole. In fact, they both took a flying leap over that line a long time ago when they decided to bar kids from the reception. Weddings, at least so far as my relatives were concerned, were family affairs — and that meant the
WHOLE DAMNED FAMILY, even the one whose appearance in the family genealogy was a little on the shady side and whose daddy nobody ever really talked about.
I'd tell her she's so full of shit that her hair probably has brown roots. Then I'd tell the guy he's not exactly head-and-shoulders above her. But for his own sanity later on down the road, I'd advise the guy to cut his losses and git while the gittin' is good. There ain't no pussy out there that's worth putting up with this kind of crap.

Yes.

She may have some valid concerns but she sure as hell didn’t post them. If the grandmother is frail or in I’ll health and lacks agency for her own travel the bride(zilla) may have a valid concern or two.
That being said she definitely comes off as someone offended that someone has outlived their usefulness.

The biggest thing about these AITA stories is they hinge on how effective the poster is at defending their actions while minimizing / demonizing the “opposing side”.
I admit that these stories are a guilty pleasure but I try to keep in mind that the story I’m reading is probably far from the objective truth.

Not simply far from objective truth but quite often merely an exercise in creative writing. r/Idontworkherelady stories frequently strike me as creative karma farming.
