After discovering the staff at her PT place had been feeding a stray...Liz and I are getting another cat. ~10 month old tuxedo, probably coming home this weekend.

Any time you start feeding a stray, congratulations - you now have a cat. I'm not against it, mind you. I'd love to give every stray a home. Congratulations on the new family member.

We weren't feeding it, that was the staff at the PT place.

Meow!
Tuxedo cats are lovely. I catch the occasional glimpse of my neighbor’s before my collie runs it off our yard. (Hopefully you’ll keep yours indoors but I don’t want to muddy the congratulatory thread by engaging in an argument about healthy lives for pet cats and protecting the environment, so don’t tell me otherwise

.)

I remember that you have (or had) a main coon. I wouldn't mind having one of them.

How did you strike out on the opportunity to say ‘it’s no secret I like pussy’?!?!

I had three cats: Maine Coon (Maya, size XXXL), black shorthair (Vierna, size XS), and orange tabby (Briza, size L)...lost Maya about 5 years ago, and Vierna about 18 months later.

Both were very old cats, at least 16. Though still elderly, Briza is younger...I think about 14 now. Fortunately, she is quite friendly with people, dogs, and other cats.

Etiquette, tact, and breeding. Let's just say that some people here have class, and some don't.
And please note that I am pointing no fingers.

I love cats. Regrettably I cannot adopt one because I am very allergic.
Enjoy your new kitty, tuxedos are very elegant. I dated a guy who was a vet who specialized in cats, he had a tuxedo he called Oreo.

Well, this was interesting. Brought Briza with us to pick up the new cat this morning. New cat had curled up on the floor, underneath the exact centre of a very large treadmill. Kitty bolted out, got past us, and half an hour of trying to catch the kitty was unsuccessful, though apparently entertaining. (A woman doing PT had to sit down, because she was laughing so hard.)
We (me, Liz, manager) sat down to try to figure out how to get the cat, when we heard laughter and loud meowing. Seems the woman and her physical therapist were both in semi-hysterics, as they saw the cat was sitting on Briza's cat carrier. We seem to have lucked out, because Briza seems to get along with this guy. New cat is small, about 9lbs.
9-10 month old neutered male tuxedo kitten. Working on a name. Liz likes, of all things, Salazar.

OK, I know he was a penguin,

Congrats on your new family member.
Some may remember that two of our four cats used to ride back and forth to work with me when they were little. Once
wild littermates, along with their brother Nash, they are all now ten. Spotted Cat and Little Black Cat (AKA LBC) would stay in a carrier until we got rolling. Then I'd let them out. One would head for the dash and the other the back shelf.
A few years ago Mrs Mc took LBC to the vet for her annual check up. The cat carrier, which has an opening on the top as well as one end, was sitting on the floor, open on top*. Once the vet was done, LBC jumped off the exam table and into the carrier. The vet said he'd never seen a cat do that in 30 years of practice. Cat-into-carrier is usually an epic battle.
*Ever tried to stuff a cat into the end of a carrier? The top is much easier.
