For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.

Great song and very good album. I bought the album when it was first released.
Imagine that.
Imagine that.
Re: Imagine 50 years on
Imagine actually brought me back to being a John Lennon fan again; I always respected his great contributions to the Beatles, but after they split, his angry rhetoric (and extolling of the "talents" of Yoko), caused me to write him off. When Imagine came out, I bought the album (and even went back and bought his first one) and to continue to buy many of his albums (the only solo ex-beatle I did that for)--talent of that magnitude is hard to ignore.

Fifty Years On...
Haunting...Harvey Andrews should be MUCH better known. He's a lyricist on par with Chapin.

Jarl--I'm not sure it's the same guy, but I think that a Harvey Andrews may have had a folk song about a British soldier killed in a northern Ireland bombing some time in the 70s, which I recall was pretty good.

I was always more partial to George Harrison.
Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

You probably know this but there was a 50th year anniversary release of All Things Must Pass in July. Great album. I bought all of his records and each of them have some very good songs but my favorite album of his - which I bought as a CD - was Cloud Nine.
