True, but they might be the kind of people who need to worry about a child—or a relative, or a partner, or an ex-partner, or a burglar—finding a gun in the house. (Yes, there are ways to minimize those possible scenarios, but they do take some effort and possibly some expense...definitely more effort/expense than simply turning in the gun to the police.)
