Dr. Fauci Says Fox News Should Fire Jesse Watters ‘on the Spot’ Over ‘Kill Shot’ Speech
Dr. Anthony Fauci told CNN’s “New Day” Tuesday that Fox News Channel personality Jesse Watters “should be fired on the spot” for using words like “ambush” and “kill shot” while speaking about the infectious-disease doctor at Monday’s “AmericaFest 2021.”
“That’s horrible. That’s just such a reflection of the craziness that goes on in society,” Dr. Fauci said. “The only thing that I have ever done throughout these two years is to encourage people to practice good public-health practices: to get vaccinated, to be careful in public settings, to wear a mask — and for that, you have some guy out there saying that people should be giving me a ‘killshot,’ to ‘ambush’ me. I mean, what kind of craziness is there in society these days? That’s awful that he said that. And he’s going to go, very likely, unaccountable. Whatever network he’s on, is not going to do anything to him. I mean, that’s crazy, the guy should be fired on the spot.”
“Based on watching the full clip and reading the entire transcript, it’s more than clear that Jesse Watters was using a metaphor for asking hard-hitting questions to Dr. Fauci about gain-of-function research and his words have been twisted completely out of context,” a Fox News spokesperson told TheWrap. (yes, dipshit, but you fail to realize most Watters fans are stupid)
Watters is the host of Fox News’ “Watter’s World.”
Readers can watch the “AmericaFest 2021” moment in question via the video at the top of this post. Watters’ part begins at the 2-hour, 13-minute mark and the Fauci stuff starts 11 minutes later.
While the language Watters uses — words like “ambush” and “kill shot” — is certainly inflammatory and arguably purposeful, he is referring to a guerrilla cell-phone interview and not actual physical violence. Watters is imploring the college student attendees to ask Fauci about funding gain-of-function research in overseas labs, including in Wuhan, China.
Watters added: “You get that footage to us, you get it to Fox, you get it to Human Events, you get it to Brietbart, you get it to Daily Caller, you get it to the Turning Point pipeline … Get us that! That’s what we want! That changes the whole conversation of the country. I’ve authorized it, just make sure it’s legal.”
He then goes into a hypothetical “kill shot” for Sen. Elizabeth Warren.
1988: Jimmy (the Greek) Snyder, CBS Sports commentator, analyst and oddsmaker, was fired by the network after a controversial television interview in which he said many blacks were superior athletes because of breeding from the time of slavery and that the only area in sports left for whites was coaching. (incidentally, he was even more prophetic than he knew. Look around the leagues today. Even at the college levels, the ratio of whites compared to people of color in baseball, football, and basketball is far out of sync with the actual demographic makeup of America.)
Fast-forward to now: Hard to believe the shit that people can say or the actions they can advocate these days under the guise of "freedom of speech" or "freedom of expression" and not get duck-walked out the door. -"BB"-
My main takeaway from this article is that Fauci is once again showing how utterly clueless he can be. Fauci is hurting the cause of public health and needs to take a back seat, way back, and let the many excellent public health officials be voice and face of dealing with COVID.

This argument is incomprehensible, sorry. Fauci is next to revered by many, and certainly esteemed by the majority of the population who even know who he is. The folks on the other side who loathe Fauci and celebrate him being compared to Mengele are reactionary idiots who hate anybody on the side of responsible public health messaging, as attested to by the many public health officials from small towns to large cities who have resigned during the course of the pandemic having faced abhorrent threats and harassment from the antivaxxer scamdemic/plandemic Q-following hoardes who make up FOX’s viewer base and Trump’s voter base. Fauci doesn’t need to take a back seat because those freaks won’t trust ANYONE - they’re already accusing the Army scientists at Walter Reed of being in bed with China in the creation of this virus and the newly developed universal coronavirus vaccine the Army just announced - it’s another tool of the elites and demoncrats meant to enslave all Americans, don’t ya know.

blah blah blah, Ginger. Every thing you wrote is completely beside the point. It doesn't matter that you and other liberals love Fauci. He's clearly made a lot of mistakes which has led to him being considered untrustworthy by nearly 40% of the population. Personal physicians are 85-90% trusted, CDC and FDA nearly 80%, by contrast. If the goal is to get vaccines to as many of the 40 million+ unvaccinated then the last person we need out there filling up media time is Fauci. None of those 40 million people trust him and for some good reasons. Contrary to your assertion, quite a number of the 40 million can be persuaded by the right people with the right strategy since most of them have far more trust in other medical professionals.

The moment those trusted "other medical professionals" appear to be "agreeing with Fauci," most of the Fauci-haters will stop trusting them.

I'm not a liberal but I will defend Dr Fauci. If your figure is correct that 40% of the population considers him untrustworthy, I'd bet that's because Trump declared Fauci to be the enemy and too many people trust Trump more than they do Fauci. That's pretty scary.
But maybe you've followed the Fauci hating news more than I, so you know something I don't. All I've seen is Fauci respond to people who falsely accuse him of things - including accusations of him being responsible for the COVID virus.
Please don't say you prefer to see and hear Rand Paul, Trump and others attack Dr Fauci rather than hearing COVID updates and advice from Fauci and other scientists.
Other than that, I think you're a swell guy, LR....

If 85-90% of those who are unvaccinated trust their own physicians, then why do they remain unvaccinated? Are you seriously suggesting that 40% or so of U.S. physicians are recommending against vaccination?

AMA survey shows over 96% of doctors fully vaccinated against COVID-19
Jun 11, 2021
CHICAGO — The American Medical Association (AMA) today released a new survey (PDF) among practicing physicians that shows more than 96 percent of surveyed U.S. physicians have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19, with no significant difference in vaccination rates across regions. Of the physicians who are not yet vaccinated, an additional 45 percent do plan to get vaccinated.
I see a number of physicians thanks to my stellar health. Every one of them has requested my vaccine status for my health records and the doctors have all conversed with me about their frustrations regarding the antivaxxer movement and its impact during this pandemic. The vast majority of antivaxxers are not following physician advice - unless they consider their chiropractor or naturopathic practitioner to be equivalent to their MD/DO. Hint, they’re not.
Yes there are a small number of whack job doctors who refuse to get vaccinated and advise against vaccination and most of them, as we’ve all seen in the news, have lost their jobs or faced sharp rebuke from their employers and the larger medical community. This is like climate change denial - the consensus is 99% of scientists now and the 1% are paid off by industry or are just whack jobs.
The unvaccinated who are stalwart antivaxxers are getting their medical advise from social media and FOX News et al. There is no significant physician movement against the covid19 vaccines or any others. Vaccines are the single greatest advance in the history of medicine resulting in the saving of many millions of lives.

Betcha a nickel that if you were to somehow obtain a list of the names of the 40% who allegedly distrust Fauci (at least on this coronavirus immunization issue) you'd find it would be almost a carbon copy of a list of the names of people who voted for Trump and the other Repugnicunt whack-a-doodles — none of whom I would trust to be able to do anything more complicated than walk and breathe simultaneously, dress themselves, or successfully become toilet-trained. -"BB"-

When Trump recently told his followers that he was fully vaxxed and boosted and that they should be too, his followers booed him. Like I said, if somebody—anybody, even if it's somebody they trust—tells these people to get vaccinated, most of them will just instantaneously switch from trust to distrust in the blink of an eye.

Long Run told us:

I'm pretty sure that if you sat Fauci down and said: "Tell us about mistakes you've made" he would say "How long have you got?" That's the nature of science especially in a very fast moving situation such as the emergence of SARS-CoV-2. Read 'And the Band Played On' - the history of the early days of the AIDS crisis by Randy Shilts. Fauci made mistakes then because he was leading the way. Roosevelt and Churchill made mistakes too.
People who do not trust Fauci but take medical advice from the likes of Donald Trump or Lauren Boebert are in-fucking-sane.
Of course Trump's recent conversion to the notion of vaccination is to be applauded. But remember the bleach thing? Or hydrochloroquine?

Jessie Waters lives in a bubble that isolates him into a strange world view of reality. And so does Fauci, and so do I.
Me, when I think of the word 'killshot' I think about a bunch of colored balls and one white ball, on a very flat table surrounded by a bumper with six holes in it.
