The sun was waking me up earlier. Sure, I could use room darkening shades, but I prefer not to unless necessary.

In recent months I’ve changed a lifelong pattern of being a late riser and now I wake up most days, sans alarm, sometime around 4:30-5:30am. So I’ve gotten used to waking up in the dark and seeing the sun rise which is always nice whatever the hour on the dial.
For me, it is far better to grasp the Universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring.
