A Michigan high school biology teacher is on leave after distributing a worksheet with ‘disturbing racial offense’

The teacher used a worksheet created in 2010 as an exercise to identify primates. Here's the worksheet:



In 2010 the question would have been: is the President of the US a primate?

It seems that if the worksheet is recycled in 2022 the question becomes: is this random black guy a primate?

Are we trying to drive people to Trump in 2024?

Wonder who would have said what if this teacher had used a picture of Trump, or Bill Gates, or even Nancy Pelosi or Margie Greene?
They're also primates, and they're white.   Racial issue resolved.

Would anyone have lost their minds if the worksheet were updated with a photo of Biden?

When the worksheet was originally made - by Duke students - it wasn’t a terribly bright idea, given the racist tropes that had many times been deployed against both of the Obamas.

That being said, I am a primate. So are you. So is Obama. So is Trump.

We really need to do better.

I guess I'm on BSG's block list (yet?  still?  again?), and this time she is apparently keeping to her word that she is ignoring me.

I don't care one way or the other if she doesn't respond to them, but would someone else please tell our resident genius-in-all-things that she really should read my posts so she doesn't look like a fool for parroting what I've already said, as she has done above?
