Have You Had Your Monkeypox Vaccine?

Post by Joe Guy »

I had mine.

Did you know that if you were vaccinated for smallpox, it is effective against monkey pox?

I got a smallpox vaccine over 50 years ago, when I was 5, the first time my parents took us to Italy. I don't imagine it will be doing me much good now.

I would think a trip to Italy at such a young age would provide you with a lifetime of good memories and positive impact on your development.

Not unless you had it recently. Talking last 3-5 years.

Other than from Long Run, I detect no sense of humor in the responses in this thread.

Be careful with whom you are monkeying around, Joe.

Thank you for your concern.

I've been very careful since Covid changed the world. I wear a mask and wash my hands frequently, especially when I'm with a group of monkeys.

It's not clear and there are many ideas being tossed around on the internet but there is some evidence that smallpox immunity may "persist for decades". I wouldn't count on it though.

Either way, it's probably a good idea to stay away from having sex with monkeys or people who have macules, papules, vesicles, pustules, or scabs all over their body

Maybe one should refrain from having casual sex with anyone in the first place?  Prevents/avoids all sorts of other diseases as well — as well as virtually eliminating the need for abortion.

What the hell — it's worked for me for over fifty years.

Yes, I suppose I could agree with you ... but then we'd both be wrong, wouldn't we?

Is it just monkeys or must we avoid apes as well? Gibbon the chance, I mean.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts
