Don't think it's too annoying myself — and as for the words split across lines, I guess I'm used to it from having done acrostics before.
And here's a tip...  you can jump ahead in the quote and fill in single-letter entries or shorter two or three letter words, which eliminates letters and might make it easier to figure out the longer words.
