Memorial Day Reflections

Every male relative of mine has served in the US Armed Forces (except my son-in-law and myself).
From WW I till the Viet Nam debacle.
Time to get out of Afghanistan and Iraq NOW, why sacrifice more American lives? Mission accomplished: bin Laden is dead and I believe what we are doing now is fruitless. Memorial Day 2012 will be more of the same except with a higher body count. Let the people in those nations settle their own differences.
Just my 2 cents.

I agree. I don't believe we should ever have gone either place, and I think the record bears it out that we've done nothing to really justify the massive loss of Iraqi, Afghani and American lives.
Now that Bin Laden is dead and everyone agrees there were never WMDs, we have no excuse to stay. We are only there for the purpose of having a foothold in the region. We have no moral standing.

Iraq was a pointless mistake from the beginning. And while Afghanistan was necessary we have done our job there and it's time to go.
If the Afghan people want a future for their children they can die for it.

Yet the ME changes every day, and now they'll willing to sacrifice for that change too.
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother
RIP we remember you today.
