Did he think something mighty would grow from little acorns?

And that it happened in a place called Intercourse just adds a layer of humour to the story:
A state judicial panel has accused Isaac H. Stoltzfus, 58, a district judge in Intercourse, Pennsylvania, of violating standards of conduct in 2010 when he handed women acorns that had been hollowed out and stuffed with condoms, LancasterOnline.com reports. The complaint, filed before the state Court of Judicial Discipline, means that Stolzfus will be tried and, if found guilty, could be stripped of his seat on the local bench because of what authorities describe as “bizarre” behavior. Stoltzfus told police the condom-filled acorns were a joke. He is still serving as a district judge.

Now that is hilarious.

Though I find the thought of this interfering with his career a bit hard to handle. It's not like they were used condoms.

If you read the original story, apparently he did it in such a way that got him identified as a judge.

Is it compulsory for judges to be sexually screwed up?

Oddly they wear long gowns, wigs and hang out in the back corrodors of the court houses.

Hmmm....

Well it's certainly very peculiar behavior...

It apparently wasn't a spur of the moment thing; he had put these little party favors together in advance, and was apparently looking for more acorns to stuff when he encountered these two ladies....

I think his intent was to shock and/or disgust, (no, the condoms weren't used, but they were unwrapped, and the first thing one might be expected think when encountering a n unwrapped condom in an acorn is that it might well be used.) Since he didn't know the women involved the "joke" explanation seems kind of weak to me....(except in a sick sort of way; especially in light of his suggestion that they try eating them )

I wonder what he intended to do with those acorns if he hadn't met these women....Just leave them out somewhere where he expected they'd be picked up?

At the very least the guy has some serious arrested development issues, and very poor judgment, (this seems kind of like the adult equivalent of the little boy who drops a rubber spider on a little girl, or something one might encounter at an undergraduate college party) at the worst he's got some some sort of sadistic streak that leads him to get his jollies by shocking or disgusting women....

Are these qualities one really wants in a person who has the power to toss people in jail?

I'm playing devil's advocate here.

He's been on the bench for 20 years. This is the reason to remove him?

I'd want to know a lot more about his record in the judiciary before I decided that the sensitivities of these two women should override all the attorneys with whom he's worked in that time and his record of judgments from the bench.

If he has, indeed, handed out acorns with condoms to illustrate the importance of BC repeatedly in the past and nobody's ever complained about that behavior before . . . well, I trust that the Court of Judicial Discipline will take into account the whole picture.

What, really, is so very horrifying about an unused condom stuffed inside an acorn? Obviously prosecutors didn't see any crime in the event.

Given that a Judge who beat up a cop at a party only got a 9 month suspension, I'd say old Ike is going to be ruling from the bench until he chooses to retire. ;)
