RB's son got married ....

We had a brilliant day - everything went off with only some very minor hiccups, nothing really worth mentioning, the bride looked stunning, my son looked so handsome and together they looked so very happy :D Sods law did kick in though, with it being England vs Wales NONE of us wanted to know the score especially Xeno, the Welsh contingent are all fanatical Wales supporters so we had a pact not to check up on the game so that we didnt slip up and tell the groom the result .... best laid plans and all that .... the flipping hotel had the game on live on a giant screen in reception where we had to gather for the photos!!  Mind you it was nice being at my sons wedding and still being able to watch most of the 2nd half

Lots of lovely surprises on the day, and my special gift to the couple made them both cry ... I had designed and commissioned a traditional lovespoon to be hand carved comprising a Welsh Dragon and and English Rose & enscribed "Llongyfarchiadau" with their names and the date. My twitter plan worked a treat and they were absolutely blown away to receive congratuations and good wishes from so many of the Wales, Ospreys & Cardiff Blues rugby teams and I'd even managed a master stroke by managing to get a special message for Vicky from JLS :D

Xeno shocked all of us including his new wife by spending half the night on the dancefloor ... dancing!! :o  lots of funny moments including a couple of stand outs ... my brother dissapearing in the evening and returning wearing his cut and club colours not sure if The Hilton has ever seen a hells angel in the function room before  My boss turning up in full "uniform" and dog collar and performing a "drive by" blessing of the happy couple  and my sister-in-law and her partner treating us to their version of Dirty Dancing "Time of Our Lives" which resulted in her half flattening him that was funy enough on its own but she was heard to say "I don't know what happened there we did that Ok last time..." to which he replied .... "yes but I was 5 years younger and you were 2 stone lighter then.... "

The cake topper was absolutely perfect... and so appropriate...

Heres just a few photos....these are all from family & friends as obviously we don't have the formal ones yet.

They are off to Florida tomorrow for their honeymoon they are doing pretty much ALL the theme parks so I imagine they'll come back exhausted and flat broke but I'm sure they'll have a wonderful time.

It sounds like everyone had a right proper time RB.

I am glad your gift brought them to tears. it is always wonderful when a good plan comes off.

I LOVE the cake and I love the bridal party. You all look stunning and happy, and there is nothing better than joy for a wedding day.

I hope the happy couple have many, many happy years together.

LOL so would I!!! No matter how old he is he is still my "little boy" ... his wifes sister (gonna have to get used to saying "his wife") did a lovely photo montage set to music of all their respective milestones right from Brahms & my wedding and Vicky's parents to the present date (it made Brahms cry awwww) I'd supplied the photos and going through the many hundreds we have was a real emotional trip the same for Vicky's sister and she'd very cleverly managed to match photos of each of them at their same respective ages doing the same sort of thing so it was absolutely wonderful.

Congrats to you and the lovely couple Reality Bytes
I remember way back in 1986 and the Mets were playing in the world series against the Red Sox. It was game six and if the Sox won the game they won the series. Well it was my cousins wedding day and her husband to be was a huge Mets fan. We all kept slipping out the reception to watch the game (a real stunner with Bill Buckner making his infamous error). The groom was dieing as none of us would tell him what was happening. (in the end the Mets won and then won game seven to capture the world series title)
