Spooky Good Fun at Scaregrove 2011 - Bring the family out for Scaregrove at Sigmund Stern Grove featuring hay rides, a haunted house, carnival rides, giant inflatables, live entertainment and food for sale.
This park is just a couple of blocks from where we live, and we're getting ready to head down there...
It's a great time...
Tati has been keeping what she's going to be this Halloween a secret from me...(BTW LoCa, last Halloween she was Hawk Girl)
Jimmy's going to be a tiger...(last Halloween he was a bunny... he's becoming more macho...)
Tati asked me what
I was going to be...
I told her that I thought I would go as a "good looking, intelligent guy...so I don't need a costume"...
She rolled her eyes and told me that
she would come up with something for me...(I can hardly wait....I don't know for sure, but I think it may involve a Rasta wig...)
Then she told me that Mommy was going to be a witch....
To which I replied, "good, then she won't need a costume either"....
Then Kelly yelled from upstairs, "I HEARD That"...
Like I said, we're a sarcastic bunch....

Here's a fright mask you could wear for All Hallows Eve Jim.

Me either, Hen.
When I was gowing up in the '50's and '60's it was a kid's holiday.
We could go trick or treating in pitch blackness, load up pillow cases full of crap, eat most of it, and stagger home.
I outgrew it around 11 years of age.

when I was a kid, I was sorry it wasn't a holiday here.
Now I am an adult, I am puzzling over why there are Halloween decorations in the shops as people just don't do it here.

It's a religious holiday LJ, 'All Hallow's Eve', what more needs to be said about their dissin' it?
Before you know it, they'll be 'secularizing' it, by not allowing 'Halloween' parties to be held at work, and instead you'll only be invited to 'Autumn Equinox' celebrations.
'Happy Halloween!' will be replaced with 'Festive Fall!'
Public displays of witches, devils, spirits and other iconic depictions of a faith-based nature, will be outlawed.
A religion-nuetral, but capitalism-friendly figure will be lauded as the reason for the season, and he will be known as "Sandy Claws".
Later, it be obfuscated that Sandy Claws stole this holiday from other, older Harvest myths, and our children shouldn't be indoctrinated to believe otherwise.
Next: they'll be trying to take all the fun outta Ground Hog's Day!

Oh, I would go and give Jim ideas!
NOVEMBER 2--
A Florida man told police early today that he was robbed at gunpoint by a man wearing a Ronald Reagan mask.
The stickup reportedly occurred around midnight on a Bradenton street, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office incident report. The victim, 41-year-old Anthony Williams, told cops that the robber was dressed in black and carried a “black semi automatic pistol.”
Williams said he was robbed of $65, and that the man in the Reagan mask fled on foot from the crime scene. Williams told a sheriff’s deputy that he returned home following the robbery--which occurred around the corner from his apartment--and called his pastor, who advised him to contact law enforcement.
In an interview, Williams said that he believes the robbery suspect is a man who was seen Halloween evening wearing a Reagan mask at a local arcade. Williams, who is unemployed, added that the man was a local troublemaker who is known to snatch purses.
No arrest has been made in connection with the incident, which police have classified as a robbery with a deadly weapon
