Amateurs  ---- we had a major snow storm (the whole Northeast did) on October 30 (a foot of snow or more, which caused more downed trees and power outages than Hurricane Irene), and another in more Northern New England on November 22 and 23.

Of course since that November storm its been in the mid 60s. The weirdest weather I can ever remember.

I just think there should be a law against snow before December. I'm sure NASA could figure something out instead of spending money on going to Mars.

We're supposed to have weird winter weather as well. Milder than usual, but because the Great Lakes are still so warm, lots of snow, possibly eclipsing the winter of 71/72 when we had similar conditions.

Agreed -- and believe me, snow for Halloween is just WRONG.

I'd be satisfied with a nice White Christmas, and then snowy weekends in January and February for skiing and skating and outdoor fun, all to be done and gone by March, so spring can get going. I'm sure the ski resorts would disagree with me, but I'm happy to give them weather bubbles and they can have snow from November to April if they like.

I remember seeing snow on the mountains here as early as 9/15 and about 10 years ago the Balloon Fiesta got snowed out half way through with 8 inches, it is always the first through second weekend in Oct.

That snow in NE last month was really bad though. We have a division in Danbury that was without power for a week. The wet heavy snow on trees with leaves to catch it sounds like it was devistating.

I lived in SF for 28 years, and I think it snowed twice; I was out of town both times! Been here in Sonoma county for nearly 6 years, and haven't seen snow yet, although I'm told it happens every few years. I'd like to see it, but I'm afraid of what people might do on the roads...

I remember when it snowed in the Bay Area in 1962....

Shoot, I'm still dealing with the Fall leaf output, and trying to keep the gutters clear for when the rains come.

It's a chilly start to the day here.

It's presently 6C, (or 42 F).

Should get to 21C, (or 69F), today.
Bah!

It is good. I don't like weather that is too hot, which makes the summer months here a little tough for me to take.

I just suffered a bit last night under bed coverings that were meant for the hotter weather we have been having recently. A summer weight doona isn't meant for temperatures that are down around 2 C overnight.
Bah!

~Whew!~ Just caught the street sweepers in time, and raked it all into their path as they came. Nice boys; waited for me and actually backed up once to get it all :ok

Here it is a balmy -2C, and a high of 7C tomorrow! I hardly even need to wear pants! Scooter, send some snow my way, there is almost none on the ground where I am. Come on winter, show yourself! :nana

Sorry, the sun came out this afternoon so it's all gone. But it looked like the upper Lake Huron - Georgian Bay area were getting a fair bit more.

26c and cloudy here today which is a welcome break from the 30-38c we've had for the past few weeks.
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?
