We've been well and truly battered Alice. 600mm in the past 36 hours! I've spent the day digging trenches to drain away water and sandbagging. I think we've just about escaped serious damage but our biocycle tank is out of action. I tried calling local SES for some help but there's a 1 hour waiting time to even talk to them! In the end all us neighbours got together to sort ourselves out. All roads leading to civilisation are closed for now but hopefully open tomorrow.
I've been in contact with Aardy and he's good. We're getting it much worse than them. About time he caught a break!

P.S. He said to say hi to all and he'll be back when he solves his computer issues.

Cheers mate. Bring a bucket!
We're having a bit of a respite at the moment. The rain has slowed down and the levels around the house are dropping slowly so it appears that the new drainage system is working.
Best yet, my amazing technical skills have managed to get the biocycle and water pump back up and running for now.
Saying that, the power was out for 8 hours last night and will probably conk out again any minu...

Same here.
If you need anything, send a private message and I'll pass on my mobile, for you and Aardvaark. Don't know what i could do - you seem to have it generally under control anyway - but the weather reports are that you're in for heaps more, so the offers there if needed.
I just watched a tv special the other evening, hosted by Kieran Perkins, that gave a recap on last years floods. It was done for the 1 year 'anniversary'. I had tears rolling down my face watching it

. And I've read a couple of articles discussing the areas that have essentially had the resources put in for the clean up and restoration, and the arears that are still looking pretty bad. Queensland's certainly taken a battering over the last year or so.

Thanks guys, it's very much appreciated.
At least the Qld government aren't being so precious about their dams this time. They released a lot of water yesterday so we shouldn't have a catastrophe on the scale of the one they caused last year.

Sensible.
I wonder if Julia will come up and grin at the catastrophe again?

I'm sure she will. The scary thing is that she makes Anna Bligh look competent!

Fuck me pink! Mates! First LocaTek and now this?!
How the fuck will you survive? Ok. Totally unnecessary side shot. QED...
Seriously, Sean, Mate, if there is Anything That I can do, let me know.
Really, an angry profanity filled email to the royal family? Just say the word...
Ok. I'll stop with the sarcasm. Mate. Love, money and or supplies; you have it.
Just say the word. Best wishes from the bastard from US of A.
PEACE AND GOD BLESS~

Not sure about electricity Scoot... It was off for 8 hours last night and I don't expect it to stay on through tonight. Of course we need electricity to run the pump which supplies all of our water so I've been filling lots of containers.
We should be good.

Thanks Timbo. Just the email will do very nicely thank you. But if you could address it to Julia Gillard that'd be nice.

I could email you some old instructions I found on how to build an ark, but you'll need a cubit to metric converter, which I don't have.
