As I mentioned in another thread I watch Pobol Y Cwm now it's supposedly set Mid/N Wales but the accents are a mix of Gog & Swallian one thing thats bugging the heck out of me tho is pronunciation of real names - I know you aren't a gog but can you tell me how you would pronounce the real name Lois?
I pronounce it Low is ... as in Lois Lane but in Cwmderi they are pronouncing it Ll oy ssss and it's bugging the shit out of me - it's a real name ffs and an English one at that so why bastardise it into something that sounds Welsh when it isn't fucking Welsh to begin with? Not only that but it's spelled Lois so no Ll for them to sound anyway
I don't know any Lois' in real life and never came across one til now so for all I know it could be the common way of pronouncing it in mid/N Wales.
