The article that I read said that the woman was taken to the hospital and required surgery.
Note the lack of reaction by the firefighters...

Too bad for her, but only an idiot would try to kiss a dog s/he barely knew. People can be so stupid about dogs. Did the humans murder the dog for behaving according to instinct?

Just checked; the dog had just been rescued the day before, from drowning by those firefighters. The poor guy was already stressed, and forced to be on camera.
Somebody getting in his face was too much press paparazzi.
