Well This Is Just About As Disgusting As It Gets

I heard on the news a little while ago that Joran Van Der Sloot, has been bragging to his "roomies" that he is receiving marriage proposals....
While this is revolting, it's not unusual....
High profile vile killers frequently get marriage proposals....Scott Peterson gets them....Richard Ramerez, "The Night Stalker" serial killer in Southern California has actually married one of these women.
When I first became aware of this phenomena some years ago, I was fascinated by it. I really wondered just what sort of a twisted fuck would want to marry one of these scum bags? What were they thinking? So I did a little research and I discovered some things about them and some explanations:
1.One primary motivating factor is the attention. When these guys respond to you you can get attention from the media. Most of these women tend to be not terribly attractive types, with poor interactive skills and not much of a social life. For many, this is the first significant attention they have ever received.
2.The drama. They find the idea of becoming involved with these dark evil men "exciting". They see themselves as going after "forbidden fruit".
3.The safety. If you think about, it's tough to imagine a relationship that's safer, (physically and emotionally) than being involved with someone who's on Death Row, or in prison for life. You always know where they are. They can't run out on you, and they also can't physically hurt you. They're also dependent on you to provide them with what they need to make their lives as pleasant as possible.

I do know that CM receives more mail than any prisoner in CA and I believe the US.
This photo from ATWA Brasil was taken on 4/23/10.
The girl behing CM is named "Star" I believe.
As you can see, CM is secure in his Coracoran abode. I believe it is here that he wants to be.
Star is from Illinois, there is an interesting YouTube bit about her and a fella named "Grey Wolf".
Yeah, I'm a Mansonphile, there are many.... you know.
(in no way to I condone what he was charged with doing back in 1969).
Just very interested in how the ramifications of a 40+ year old case continues to play out.

That picture is really creepy...
Not Manson, who just looks like your average little old man...
But the chick standing behind him....
She looks so much like the women who were recruited into his "family"....
Long straignt brown hair, parted down the middle, weird facial expression...(sort of half diabolical, half out of it)
I'm curious about the way you phrased this:
(in no way to I condone what he was charged with doing back in 1969).
Do you think he's innocent?
I'll give him credit for one thing...
At his 1967 parole hearing, he asked the parole board not to release him. He told them that he didn't think he could function on the outside...
You know if I'm sitting on a parole board and the potential parolee asks me to deny his parole because he doesn't think he could function in society, I would be inclined to grant his request.

.........He is NOT innocent in the conspiracy to murder, he was never found gulty of murder and was NOT allowed to defend himself before a jury. It is believed that Bugliosi would've been unable to get a conviction from a jury "under the spell of Manson. What a load of crap! Manson was allowed to speak if fron of a judge withoout the jury present.

True, but isn't Manson just an American bogeyman?
His total of murders nil, the total of murders by his followers, a small handful, by today's standards he's a total failure as a serial killer.

I don't think Manson really fits the profile of a "serial killer"....
Serial Killers get off on the act of killing personally, and generally either work alone or in some cases. with one other sicko partner...
For Manson, the motivating factor here was having total control over other people. and getting them to do whatever he told them to....
And since murder is the most extreme thing you can get another person to do, he got others to commit murders to demonstrate to himself just how total his ability to control them was....
I would argue that on a scale of moral reprehensibility, that makes him even worse than the people who carried out the killings; not somehow less culpable...
