That kind of made up for last week's score. Must have been easier news.

Which reminds me; when did the Booker prize become a thing? OK, 1969. I looked at the winner's list and am not sure whether to be cheered up or ashamed that of 'em all, I only read one; Life of Pi. Probably will get around to Wolf Hall one day but the others . . . meh! Not a single John Le Carre there. No Flashman.

One correct answer was scored when my spotted cat jumped onto my hand on the mouse. I'd have missed it otherwise.

Interesting. So it's your cat that makes many of your better decisions, heh?
Me? I'm not a pet person -- I have to rely on wild guesses when answering these quizzes.

Pretty good since I'm still on vacation and my daily news consumption is approximately ZERO. (Every one of my answers was a guess.)

Strangely it's not the spotted cat (AKA SC) that usually helps me out, but his sister the little black cat (AKA LBC). She likes to stand on the keyboard and type repeated letters of one sort or another. I usually catch them before I click on submit.
The spotted cat has epilepsy and takes two 1/2 cc does of Phenobarbital mixed into moist food daily. He was also diagnosed with cancer and given six months to live two years ago. He's scrawny, unlike his robust brother Nash, but still likes to run through the house and slide repeatedly on the vinyl floor in the kitchen. It's going to be tough when he stops enjoying life.

(There was no BBC Quiz last week; maybe they didn't want to have one on Friday the 13th...)
