The first thing that surprised me is that it is made by Kraft, an American Company. So why can't we buy it here?
So I toasted some sourdough bread and spread butter on it and then put a small amount on it and tasted it. Then I put a little more on and tasted it.
Well I'll be stuffed! Ace!
I'm grinning like a shot fox.
There was no drama. I expected the worst but it was a piece of piss and that's no porky!
I'm having it now for brekkie!
No time to yabber.

Haven't had veggie mites. Had marmites though. I believe one could effectively market it Stateside as an emetic.

I've eaten marmite as well and I agree with The Gentlewoman From Indiana...

BTW, I've been able to get Marmite at Whole Foods stores, and I've even seen it at some Dominick's (a local affiliate of Safeway) stores. I've only tried Vegemite once, and like Gob and many others I found Marmite to be much more palatable (mainly because it's not as salty as Vegemite).

Yay. One of us. One of us.
Don't forget, it goes really well underneath cheese on an open grilled cheese sandwich.
Cheese and Vegemite.

I am surprised you could get cheese to lie on it. Limberger I presume?

Of additional note is that Joe has not been back since his initial declaration. Probably in the ER with stomach cramps.

You're the salt of the earth. And I know why.

Sorry I've been away for a while.
I've been very busy eating Vegemite and deleting posts.

I'm eating Vegemite more and more these days.
So far I've put it on biscuits, triscuits, regular bread, sour dough, wheat bread & crumpets. I don't think I'd like it on a sandwich, but I'll probably try it.
Eventually, I think I'll need to taste Marmite to make a comparison.
For those of you who have actually tried Vegemite or Marmite and really hate it, how did you taste it and what about it was so repulsive?
