SF student suspended over Connecticut poem

Thursday, December 27, 2012

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- A San Francisco high school senior is suspended because of a poem she wrote which dealt with the school shooting in Connecticut. What she wrote has left officials with a dilemma.

It was a dark poem and in the wake of the Connecticut tragedy, it raised red flags and triggered a quick response by school officials. Now the student is facing the possibility of being expelled.

"I understand the killings in Connecticut. I know why he pulled the trigger," said Courtni Webb, the suspended student.

Those words in Webb's poem prompted school officials at the Life Learning Academy on Treasure Island to suspend the 17-year-old senior until further notice.

(The teacher and principal deserve a kick in the ass, imo)

"I understand the killings in Connecticut. I know why he pulled the trigger," said Courtni Webb, the suspended student.

"Why are we oppressed by a dysfunctional community of haters and blamers?" wrote Webb in the poem.
Would need to see more of the poem to make a judgement, but there again, you do live in a land of fear. ;)

Cognitive lapse?

You meant to say that living in a land of fear is a good thing because it takes courage? Like flying on the most dangerous planes avail. just to save money?

Or?

That no matter how stupid the risk one can say that "it takes courage"?

Mental munchkin.

No retard, let me spell this out s-l-o-w-l-y for you.

When some one makes the j-o-k-e;
Would need to see more of the poem to make a judgement, but there again, you do live in a land of fear. ;)
Note winky, indicating; "not a serious point, It's a j-o-k-e"

To reply;
Says the man who takes his family on a Russian airliner.
1) Has no relevance, or congruence with the joke/point made.
2) Shows what a silly and bitter little man you are.
3) Again exposes your profound ignorance.

Want to try reloading so you can get a better shot at those feet? They must be in tatters by now.

Or would you like to try to explain how;
Gob: "But there again, you do live in a land of fear ;)"
Retard; "Says the man who takes his family on a Russian airliner."

Is in any way relevant/funny/apposite?

Boy, 6, suspended from Silver Spring school for pointing finger like a gun

The parents of a 6-year-old Silver Spring boy are fighting the first-grader’s suspension from a Montgomery County public school for pointing his finger like a gun and saying “pow,” an incident school officials characterized in a disciplinary letter as a threat “to shoot a student.”

The first-grader was suspended for one day, Dec. 21. The family’s attorney filed an appeal Wednesday, asking that the incident be expunged from the boy’s school record amid concerns of long-term fallout.

pointing his finger like a gun and saying “pow,”
If this was in effect when I went to school, I would have been suspended for most of my life.
