Words fail me....
Professor Claims Newtown Shooting Was Likely Staged

A professor from a Florida university speculates that the Newtown massacre may have been "constructed."

In a series of blog posts since last month's shooting that left 28, including the gunman, dead in Connecticut, James Tracy lays out his case that there have been too many conflicting reports and ambiguity surrounding the massacre.

"...what has been revealed and captured in press reports suggests how from missing suspects and evidence to unrevealed corpses much is still unknown and mainstream news outlets have been at least complicit in what could conceivably be described as the Sandy Hook massacre's constructed reality," the associate professor of Media Studies at Florida Atlantic University wrote at memoryholeblog.com last week. "In this way unseen and largely unaccountable authorities set the agenda of the reportage through a titillating storyline reliant on an unsettling symbolic landscape to further develop and cultivate audience credulity."

"Regardless of where one stands on the Second Amendment and gun control, it is not unreasonable to suggest the Obama administration complicity or direct oversight of an incident that has in very short order sparked a national debate on the very topic-and not coincidentally remains a key piece of Obama's political platform."

FAU has distanced itself from Tracy's comments.[They ought to fire the crazy SOB]

While some who have commented say Tracy has brought up valid points, others are appalled.

"This is a sickening manipulation of horrific events to correspond to what from my perspective is a warped – perhaps even mentally ill – view of the world," wrote commenter Christopher Joiner.

Tracy, whose blog represents his personal views only and not that of the university, first began blogging about inconsistencies in reports about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting a week after the Dec. 14 tragedy.

Some of the inconsistencies he has listed include: initial reports and recorded police radio calls of multiple suspects at the scene though the accepted story now is that there was only one gunman; initial reports also indicated that the gunman used pistols at the school and that a rifle was found in the suspect's car though later police said only a rifle was used for maximum killing at the school; though the gunman fired rounds into the school glass doors, it reportedly wasn't until after he began firing inside the facility that school personnel or students heard gunshots and called 911; and only an "extremely skilled" gunman would have been able to shoot as many rounds as he did in less than 10 minutes.

Tracy also finds it odd that there is no photo or video evidence of the incident, considering the school had a new security system installed. Additionally, medical examiner H. Wayne Carver II, according to Tracy, tends to go to excessive lengths to demonstrate his findings and expert opinion but during a press conference about the autopsies he performed on the victims, he was vague, "amateurish" and "out of character," the professor claims.

Most recently, authorities have delayed the public disclosure of items they retrieved from Adam (gunman) and Nancy (mother whom he shot) Lanza's residence.

Tracy claims that the media is helping to further "larger political ends."

"While it sounds like an outrageous claim, one is left to inquire whether the Sandy Hook shooting ever took place - at least in the way law enforcement authorities and the nation's news media have described," he writes.

"To declare that the shooting 'never took place' is cause for intense opprobrium in most polite circles where, in familiar Orwellian fashion, the media-induced trance and dehistoricized will to believe maintain their hold. Similarly, an individual who contends that Timothy McVeigh was an accessory in a much larger operation at Oklahoma City, Osama bin Laden was not responsible for the events of 9/11, or the World Trade Center Towers were brought down by controlled demolition is vigorously condemned for thought crimes against the state. Such are the immense dimensions of mass manipulation where fact and tragedy may be routinely revised and reinforced to fit the motives and designs toward a much larger apparatus of social and geopolitical control."[sound like anyone you know?]

(I have a distinct recollection that this fruitloop's blog: http://memoryholeblog.com is a "source" that Steve cited more than once...)

I was watching a report about this insanity on Anderson Cooper's show....

Apparently, some of the families of the murdered children are being harassed by some of the twisted fucks who have bought into this madness, receiving phone calls and emails accusing them of being part of a government conspiracy....   :loon :loon :loon

Baseballs bats are too good for these assholes doing the harassing. This morning on the BBC I was listening to one parent describe that morning, and how she was told that her kindergartner was one of the dead. I couldn't stop crying, and god knows how she could speak in complete sentences.

It takes very little skill to switch magazines.

And I've gotten some spam from a similar lunatic, claiming that these shootings are part of a government conspiracy to be able to ban firearms.

Been thinking about this and gun laws and gun owners responsibility.
Not to speak ill of the dead especially one who was a victim of this idiot, but mom bears some responsibility here as far as I am concerned. She owned the guns (legally) and knew the son was "unstable". A good (responsible) gun owner would do their best to make these guns UNavailable to the known, unstable son. Maybe she did and he got them anyway, but i kinda doubt it.

The "swift boat veterans", "climate change deniers" and "birthers" ride again.

Promoting lies has the natural result of making ever-more implausible lies acceptable to more people.

It's what happens when sloganeering replaces thought, you have to make allowances for it.

You cannot erode the idea that the truth matters without consequence.

BushCo spent 4 years lying as a matter of policy and the Republican party (we created the deficit we now deplore and pretend we believe all you birther assholes) were in with both feet. What do you think happens next?

Lying is destructive.

LOL

"Erode" it? You've vaporized it....

Oh good God a'mighty....

The moron is trying to blame Bush for this? :loon

That's nearly, but (not quite) as mind numbingly idiotic as his attempt to blame Ronald Reagan for the Oklahoma City Bombing....

But this Tracy character thinks Bush was behind 9/11, so maybe he and rube are kindred souls....

As Obama hasn't spent the last four years?????

Any reasonable should see that all politician lie, or at the very least, leave things unsaid.

Any time you start with statement like "any reasonable person" or "all sane people" immediately turns off those you are trying to reach. It appears to be part of the "elite" and that the "rest of us" can't make up our own minds. I happen to have a 140+IQ (mensa people are totally out there, been there done that), have a BSEE degree (summa cum laude) with a GPA of 3.74(back when 4 was the highest you could obtain). But yes I am an alcoholic so my brain function may be impared.

What I'm trying to say, to all here, that brains and position mean nothing. Present the arguments without belittling others even if they belittle you or some group you may think (or are) part of.
thanks you
That's my rant for today.

Not to mention the fact that those are two categories of persons of which he has never been a member, and would therefore have no first hand knowledge about what they would think, one way or the other....

Present the arguments without belittling others...
Well that's a lovely sentiment oldr, but the whole reason the man is here is to belittle others....

If he wasn't belittling others, he'd have no reason for being on this board....

For 14 years, across three boards, it's been his whole raison d'être...

It's the greatest running gag we've had going....

(But personally, I don't mind that a bit; it's part of the character of this place)

A man who is arguably the least intelligent and least knowledgeable person around here, is absolutely convinced that he is in fact the most knowledgeable and intelligent person around here...

What I have described as Clouseau Syndrome...

The hilarious disconnect between what rube thinks of himself, and reality, is part of what makes this place unique.... 8-)

Frankly, I have to give some props to rube...

To have been handed his ass so many times, and yet he continues to participate here...

This shows a certain level of tenacity that one must respect...

This man obviously does not care what anyone thinks of him; for 14 years he's been shown to be a fool, and yet he keeps coming back for more...

I for one will be very sorry if rube ever decides to leave our little middle-aged cyber college bull session...

He's an amazing case study...

The truth matters.

When a political party decides as a matter of policy that they will lie about global warming or the effects of tobacco addiction there are significant consequences.
