The first hatchling of the new year for Clara and her new beau, Fernando Cohete (Fernando "the rocket").

I figured someone should fill in for locatek's annual reminder of the dramatic lives of the resident peregrine falcons. There is a local pair here on the W. side of Santa Cruz who have been very vocal for the past 2 months. Today, and quite often, I have heard one of them calling as he cruised the neighborhood looking for tasty treats.
