Unconditional love

Melissa Proctor Swanson's husband had been deployed for 6 months. Before he left, the couple became long term foster parents for Emma, a special needs puppy with a severe birth defect, through SNARR - a special needs animal rescue. Emma and her daddy were very close, and it broke her heart when he left. When Melissa comes in the door, Emma normally sits at the end of the hallway and waits to be picked up. This time, when her daddy came in, Emma went to him! Mikey (the tan dog) was so happy he cried! Gotta love homecomings!!

If you go to the link below (Emma's Facebook page), you can watch more videos of her. She gets around really well outdoors, she just has trouble on slick tile. They have a bunch of rugs down for her in the living room for her to move around on. Also, Emma continues to be under the medical care of SNARR, so that we can monitor her medical condition, and have agreed to let them keep her for the rest of her life (Woohoo!) but still pay her medical bills, which are quite expensive at times. If you want to check out SNARR's amazing work, see the other special dogs they have there, and possibly donate to help pay Emma's medical bills, please check out our website:

Anybody who refers to themselves as their pet's 'mummy' or 'daddy' should seek professional help IMO...

When I tell Apollo to go to my wife I say, "Apollo, go to mommy". Having a pet is similar to having a child. They totally rely on you for their well being. And they give you unconditional love in return, along with a few odd jobs they like to do like brinning in the newspaper and mail.

And yes, I do get professional help, just not for that.

Cats are owners, people are their pets.
