Three of my favorites:
19) Rising fluoridation of the U.S. water supply is turning us all into Communists:
21) Some of us are still using wood for energy. Wood!
22) Pittsburgh is reverting to 1900-era conditions:
The world is a dynamic place.

In rural areas hereabouts, the size of one's "wood burner" is a matter of some pride. Burning "free" logs to save on natural gas seems like a good tradeoff to me.
I'm not sure years of education going up is necessarily a good thing. Today, it is as much a matter of worthless adolescence being extended for another 4-5 years, because most young [legal] "adults" are nowhere near ready to assume any real responsibility at 18 years old.
Also, I'm sure we Pittsburghers would be quite content to trade some pollution for the robust manufacturing and steel economy that caused it.
