Hmmm... This happened near to where I live. When I saw it on the news I was annoyed by the number of rescue vehicles and personnel sent out to retrieve these muppets. Then, as the female paraglider walked away she spoke to a reporter and said, "I'm fit and well and that's all that matters!"

That was where I lost it and began swearing at the TV...
Why is it that when Miley Cyrus gets naked and licks a hammer it's 'art' and 'edgy' but when I do it I'm 'drunk' and 'banned from the hardware store'?

We can't help ourselves. The right thing to do is allow people who don't value their own lives to die in the manner of their choosing and thereby improve the species. But we can't help it. We're going to send rescuers because it is our nature to do so. Perverse, but there you are.

So when someone who has not taken their health seriously for years (risky behaviour) suffers a heart attack, we should not call 911 (rescue) and just let them die?
And who determines which "behaviours" warrant rescue and which do not? Riding a bicycle down the street, or on a trail? Skateboarding? Rollerblading?

One can always sneer at everyone while the world passes them by having fun.

Your collective inability to acknowledge this obvious truth makes you all look like fools.

I'm not sneering at anyone for having fun. What pissed me off was her reaction. She couldn't give two fucks that half of the Gold Coast Fire & Rescue had come running to get her arse out of a tree!

I suppose you had to see/hear the way she said it... Some people couldn't care less about anyone but themselves!

When I take over this country, there will be a list made of these inherently dangerous activities and it will be made clear that if you take part in these activities and need the emergency services you will be subject to a charge.

Oh, and cycle nazis will become an integral part of a new blood sport but that's another story..

Since you'll be in charge, why not make a law that there will be no emergency services for certain activities unless they pay up front for services they might need? And services won't exceed what one can afford.

If two legs get torn off and you don't pay enough we might only be able to sew one back on.

Pay as you go.... :D

Did you read the whole post? Was four sentences too much for you to parse all at once?

That's ok Dales. I know you can't read 4 whole sentences and come up with an approximate understanding. Someone who could, someone smarter than you, would have seen it was less harsh and more compassionate than Sean's reaction.

What do you think it means to say "we can't help it". WE. The writer is deliberately using the first person plural. First person. Now think.

Hmmmmm ?

If you believe " The right thing to do is allow people who don't value their own lives to die in the manner of their choosing and thereby improve the species" shows any degree of compassion, then you don't understand the word.

And before you criticize me for what I wrote on the subject - stop and think for a minute - I'm not claiming to be compassionate.

And yet another person falls short of the "4 sentence" standard of comprehension. 4 Sentences! Short ones! Not complicated!

All members of the hatesy cartel. All too stupid and spineless to have minds of their own. And you wonder why I don't give a crap what you think?

Like Bosco says "too funny".

Number of responses which can read and understand 4 sentences. 0

And counting.

When there is no response based on facts or logic, accuse the other person of drinking! Stupid, but that is your nature. Hatred and stupidity.

So predictable.
