And yes Barwick Green would be a much better anthem than GSTQ. I hope Danny Boyle manages to weave it into the Olympic opening ceremony next year

This country is in a terrible state, according to some people, and I know why. Now you've blamed it on lot of things, on unemployment and the value of the pound and all sorts of other magic things. It's because the national anthem is boring!

So I think it's time for a change. And I think a refreshing change would be to use the theme from The Archers.

Heh. I'll try and explain.

There is a long running radio program in the UK called "The Archers".

A major character is/has been killed off.

The Theme Tune for the Archers is a twee tune called Barwick Green. It is incredibly is bright, merry and signifies all things good.
in the British countryside.

Billy Connelly (the Big Yin) reckons that the Archers Theme Choon should be the British National Anthem instead of the current dirge, God Save the Queen.

Daisy reckons they should incorporate the song in the opening of the London Games. I reckon they should too.
