Daniel Day-Lewis has announced his retirement from acting at 60.

What a slacker!

Seriously, though - I hope he's not ill. I'll miss seeing him in new films, he's such a brilliant talent.

Maybe I'm wrong but I heard he has cerebral palsy. Miraculously, he apparently has control of his left foot and has been using it to scrawl chalk words on his foyer floor. Yesterday's message was "I quit" and the Day-Lewis family has honored his wishes by posting his intentions on his MySpace page.
