Very interesting documentaries from Deeyah Khan
"White Right Meeting the enemy." And "Jihad a story of the others." The first is about meeting with current and former white supremacists in the US and the second is about meeting with ex Jihadis in Britain. I'l leave it to you to look up her particulars but doing even one of the two with her personal takes the courage of a lioness. In the end it is a very hopeful message and shows how similar the forces which produce white supremacists and Jihadis are and how similar the forces and life experiences are which move people to leave either group. In several scenes when she is interviewing white racists she asks very quietly if they think she is a 'mud person of any of the other slurs directed towards her and it is telling how acutely uncomfortable they are.
She has others which I haven't seen yet. Looking forward to them.

Rube: really, who do you do this? I'd not heard of Deeyah Khan; and your first post made me think: OK, I'll keep an eye open for her, could be interesting. Thanks for the heads up.
And then I see your second post. I can overlook the unorthodox punctuation and the unique spelling of your'e - but why the need to shit all over the people around you?

Deeyah Khan? Wow! She's hot.
rube, do you know if there are any naked pictures of her on the internet?

Every time I have posted about something of value or interest it has had the same response. so the "fuck you" is earned and appropriate. And it is proved again here. No one has followed up and seen anything by Deeyah Khan who certainly deserves attention. so I'm right. Her work deserves a Nobel prize but none of you lackwits will ever bother to look.

Ah, this is the other rubato. The adult one must be on holiday - at least he knows the proper use of grammar, spelling and punctuation. The original post was so close to incoherent that I suspected Nigerian hacking.
For Christianity, by identifying truth with faith, must teach-and, properly understood, does teach-that any interference with the truth is immoral. A Christian with faith has nothing to fear from the facts

As it happens, both of those docs are in my Netflix queue, as I’d heard about them already elsewhere - I’m quite glad this thread wasn’t the first I’d heard of them as nowadays I reject out of hand pretty much anything you say because you’re such an arrogant prick about everything. Way to win friends and influence people!

Rubato is the best advert for the republican party I've ever seen.
“If you trust in yourself, and believe in your dreams, and follow your star. . . you'll still get beaten by people who spent their time working hard and learning things and weren't so lazy.”
