Loca, the land of painted caves is out, but it will be a awhile before it comes out on audio. I have been thinking about either getting in line at the library or buying the book, but my grass is already too high as it is. I have finished listening to the books in the Earth's Children series, except the last one. You wouldn’t know of a site that has a synopsis on the book would you?

I expected to be placed in an air force combat position such as security police, forward air control, pararescue or E.O.D. I would have liked dog handler. I had heard about the dog Nemo and was highly impressed. “SFB” is sad I didn’t end up in E.O.D.

Oh, I loved the first four or so, books; thX for the update. The work has been quite the phenomenon for over a decade, in it's scope and creativity.

And I am no racist; I respect everyone until they prove they don’t deserve respect. There are different races of people but none are superior; I have worked with too many highly competent technicians of other races to believe anything else. I am only a racist if you consider my willingness to defend my own people from what I consider unfair attacks as racist.

I love it 'cause it's real SCIENCE fiction, and not just another Space Opera. If it gets people out and interested in Anthropology and Fossil records then more power to the pulp!

I will get back to ’Tim later this is what I really want to talk about: I like the Earth’s children series first of all because it makes for a good story. It is something out of the ordinary. Pick up one of jean Auel’s books or listen to a recording as I do and you enter a time machine in which you are transported back over twenty five thousand years. She does this by describing the daily activities of the characters. One amateur reviewer I read complained he did not need to know about Ayla passing water or pooping. The reason Jean includes that stuff in her stories is the same reason that she includes descriptions of Aula sex life; it is to draw the reader in and make her real to the reader. Real people eat, sleep, poop and have sex. It is related to this which I think you already know: In the Shelter of Stone Ayla agreed to become a Zelandoni and in that role as you know one of her duties is to serve as a Doniwoman. And if you remember the role of a DoniWoamn is to introduce young men, really what we consider boys, to the Earth mother’s gift of pleasures, sex. Think about it twenty and thirty year old women having sex with twelve, thirteen and fourteen year old boys how does that strike your modern day sensibilities?

Well Tim, if you'd read that in the context of the story line, it wouldn't be so shocking. Granted, the author takes some guesses as to what early human culture was like at those 'dawn times' but it's far most plausible than thinking cavewomen sauntered about bare-foot in rough, rabbit fur bikinis, a la' Raquel Welch.

What struck so many anthropologists was how well dressed and equipped, a so-called 'primitive man' was. His clothes were finely sewn; his shoes were durable and well made and he carried a tool kit, with everything from bone needles to finely-crafted flint knives.

It is true I frequently screw up my post, but there is no conspiracy or great mystery involved. I have a perceptional problem that has plagued me most of my life. I have noticed in my adult life for some unknown reason it sometimes goes away like it takes a vacation. I know that probably doesn‘t make any sense to you but it is best I can explain it. I don’t think that you understand just how frustrating it can be to write a reasonably acceptable sentence and later notice words have magically disappeared or transformed themselves into the wrong homonym. It made school difficult, but with the aid of outstanding teacher I was able to over come it and even later attend the University after I retired. My time in college was quite an experience, but with a lot hard work and a considerable amount of strategy I was able to graduate cum laude even though I did end up getting a general studies degree instead of a teaching degree.
